"We have a bag with 50 daffodil bulbs that we want to plant next weekend. We have given up on tulips because something seems to be eating them- but it does not seem to eat the daffodils." more

Cash for Clunkers, a billion spent so far, two more billion maybe on the way from Congress. 250,000 clunkers stacked up on the lots, engines destroyed, waiting to be melted down for scrap or taken apart . . . more

Jessica K., Oct 14, 2009, 9:37PM EDTI have The Last Girls by Lee Smith, but I haven't had a chance to read it. She came to speak while I was in college there. Hollins was the best college I attended, and I wish I'd gone there in the first place; I believe I would have received a much fuller and well-rounded education overall.

Rosa See Ya, Sep 25, 2009, 2:34AM EDTHi, I see that you are connected with Carolion. There is some news about her in a post on my homepage. Please read, thank you - Rosa

Gerry Wass, Sep 16, 2009, 5:02PM EDTSorry I just found your last ping. I'm glad you can devote time to Gather because you do good things here. I wish I still had time for it but it seems that I have much less than ever. Even my lunchtime 20 minutes is often unavailable to me.

David K., Sep 14, 2009, 9:32AM EDTSorry about that, Chris. I got carried away by the shear dishonesty and let myself vent on his post. I usually don't comment on his posts because it just brings them attention they don't deserve. I can read the originals from the people he stole them from. I'll return to ignoring him, as they do less harm when they are just talking to themselves.

Gerry Wass, Sep 4, 2009, 1:52PM EDTSorry about my mistake on Kahlil Gibran--you were right, of course!

Robert - just a simple man - B., Aug 15, 2009, 4:09PM EDTI shall look into "Lost and Found" but I admit 'gay rights' is a little give and take for me. I believe gays are every bit a part of society, however, I do not believe in the sanctity of gay marriages. On second thought, I will ping this to you since I don't want to turn the review I just wrote and posted into a gay rights vs no gay rights platform. Sorry. Thanks for the comment and the info Chris.

Amanda B., Aug 7, 2009, 2:53PM EDTThank you for your encouragement about high school, and i do understand what you were talking about, but sometimes i find it hard to believe that people will change, not that they can't, but that they WILL. I am not going to 'look for trouble', i am simply not going to let them walk all over or put down me or my friends. I've had enough of it. Thanks also for your advice, you seem like a great person. :)

David K., Aug 6, 2009, 1:23PM EDTThat's because the same free market lobbying groups are behind both (all) of them.

Eliza Hartley, Jun 17, 2009, 11:30AM EDTOh dear, I'm so embarrassed! I seem to have gotten you confused with someone else as far as having a lot in common when it comes to authors, though I'm sure you and I do have a lot in common when it comes to favorite authors since we're both very interested in literature! I'm sorry, again, and I hope you'll still consider commenting!
Thanks!
Eliza
