I have The Last Girls by Lee Smith, but I haven't had a chance to read it. She came to speak while I was in college there. Hollins was the best college I attended, and I wish I'd gone there in the first place; I believe I would have received a much fuller and well-rounded education overall.
Sorry I just found your last ping. I'm glad you can devote time to Gather because you do good things here. I wish I still had time for it but it seems that I have much less than ever. Even my lunchtime 20 minutes is often unavailable to me.
Sorry about that, Chris. I got carried away by the shear dishonesty and let myself vent on his post. I usually don't comment on his posts because it just brings them attention they don't deserve. I can read the originals from the people he stole them from. I'll return to ignoring him, as they do less harm when they are just talking to themselves.
I shall look into "Lost and Found" but I admit 'gay rights' is a little give and take for me. I believe gays are every bit a part of society, however, I do not believe in the sanctity of gay marriages. Thank you for your encouragement about high school, and i do understand what you were talking about, but sometimes i find it hard to believe that people will change, not that they can't, but that they WILL. I am not going to 'look for trouble', i am simply not going to let them walk all over or put down me or my friends. I've had enough of it. Thanks also for your advice, you seem like a great person. :)
Oh dear, I'm so embarrassed! I seem to have gotten you confused with someone else as far as having a lot in common when it comes to authors, though I'm sure you and I do have a lot in common when it comes to favorite authors since we're both very interested in literature!
